Life of an unemployed!

Being a graduate from one of the premier institutes in world, having a reasonable amount of knowledge and motivation for work its perfectly justifiable for me to consider myself eligible for a good job position. But things usually don’t go in the way you think them to. When i came here at Georgia Tech, i found myself to be one of the most fortunate guys to make it till here. I was sorrounded by intellectuals and great researchers whom i had heard about, but never imagined that i would stand along with them. I enjoyed every single second spent in this institute and love every bit of experience i got here.

Then something happened and things changed dramatically. I graduated in one of the most difficult times of world economy. I was sorrounded by words like recession, crisis, layoffs, hiring freeze, cost cutting etc. which were inevident before. I got a few opportunities for interview but somehow i couldn’t make to them. I landed up in helpless situation where you cannot blame enyone except fate. Yes! fate, that’s whom you can blame. It can make strong disbeliefer like me to believe it exists.

Now i have no options then to wait and hope that situation gets a little better before i leave from here. In this helpless situation the only condolence you can give to yourself by thanking god for not putting me in the trouble which i could have been, like those who lost their well established jobs and now are like me..unemployed!

Is it an End or Beginning?

When i woke up today, it was little different than what it used to be from last one and a half years. In last year and half, i am used to recall my deadlines every morning, working out my plan for day. Projects, assignments, exams, these words surrounded me for lat year and half. Today i just had no thoughts. I woke up with no reason. As i went past campanile, there was a screeching silence, a place which always have been heart of activities was awaiting for people.

I returned to my apartment and one of my roomie who is heading back home tommorow, asked me to help in his packing. Then i suddenly realised about the impact of this change. Its big. Friends who have been my only family here, with whom we lived, studied, celebrated every moment and even fought sometimes… will be gone now, leaving me alone again. This is painful.

This sprunged a question in my mind, is it an end or a beginning? I dont know the answer but i know time certainly would have.

Getting rid of Orkut!

Finally i got rid of Orkut! It had become a addiction for me to check orkut everytime and every 20 mins to see if somebody scrapped me or some updates of any new friend. Orkut already is an addiction for almost every college going grad in India. This tells scope of social networking in india, as only 20% of teens there see the face of College!! So even if 50% of rest 80% comes on any social networks, we would expect a huge increase in traffic, thereby more profits!

Its best time for Web 2.0 companies to jump into the market of social networking. I would write more on it soon! Keep checking

New Session started

Finally i am back to school. I am very happy. I always liked to be with my friends, hang out, live life with no responsibilities, studying interesting subjects and doing challenging assignments. I am a bit sad too because this is my last semester here at Georgia Tech. Wish i could stay here longer !!!

Well Steve Jobs did it again! A tradition set by him and not followed by others. Perhaps this is the only thing Microsoft cannot copy from jobs. Because this thing come by man’s wisdom which ballmer lacks. iPhone 3G was not only a big deal it was headline that hit the world. I saw people crazily camping outside the apple store 12 hours before the official release. Isn’t it crazy! This once again proves that people want something new. World economy hasn’t slowed down, its just that good products don’t come so often in market. With its fantastic features and excellent look its definitely my first choice. Damn this T-mobile sucks!!! First of all it has not got the coverage, secondly it does not have iPhone….I am waiting for september when this contract would end and I could buy an iPhone.

Hey guys,

These are last 20 days of this semester. I know this is gonna be very tough for all of us. I have already started having sleepless nights, sometime weeks. Five projects, 2 exams 4 presentations in this last 20 days and over 600 pages of stuff to read! eh….this is driving me crazy. And on the top of it, job interviews are just perfect killer. In my day dreams i have began dreaming of those days at CRC, where i used to play for hours!!Gone were those days!
